Grace Notes August 27, 2014

We’re all back from our respective vacations this summe. Between summer homework, music practice, and catch up chores around the house, we had a chance to play Scopa. Do any of my American friends know this game?

We pulled out some old cards from a bin in my mother-in-law’s house that we brought home after her death in 2012, and we found some leftover change from the WWII period – when metals were so precious, the Italians “minted coins” in paper – numbered bills marked UNA LIRA.
